It is official!! We are very pleased to announce to our clientele, friends and new customers that we are soon to launch our new and improved menu!
As you might have noticed it on social media, or in the restaurant, if you paid us a visit in the past weeks, there have been a lot of exciting changes going on here at Antico… The look of the restaurant has changed, new colours, new plates, new chairs and a new menu is just the cherry on top!
No matter how much our appearance and menu might change though, we will always remain faithful to our motto, “good food – good wine – good times”!
But let us guide you through some of the interesting changes in our new menu.
First of all we are introducing one of the most loved traditions of the Italian culture, the ‘Aperitivo‘ – from the Latin verb ‘to open’, Aperitivo is essentially something that ‘opens your stomach’, that triggers your appetite, that gets you hungry. Either just before lunch or dinner time, if you are in Italy you could easily be able to spot the Italians sitting in bars, enjoying a drink and eating small-sized bites of food while chatting and unwinding after a long day… Well that’s an Aperitivo, and we thought that was something our lovely town was still missing, and it is about time we started the revolution! 😉
In our new menu you can now find a section all dedicated to the most classical drinks every Italian would drink during the Aperitivo, from the iconic Aperol Spritz to the old fashioned but always trendy Negroni, followed by the ‘Assaggini‘ list, a few light options to accompany your drink and keep you going till the dinner is on the table (either at home or with us if you decided to stay after it).
Every change we made to the menu reflects our desire to renovate ourselves and to offer you the best Italian experience ever. ‘La Pasta’ and ‘Le Specialità della Casa’, as you know, are undoubtedly the most representative dishes of our restaurant.
We have added some amazing new fish based dishes and for the carnivores out there you’ll be pleased to see some extra meatiness on our menu in the form of three different ‘Filetto’ options (always cooked to your liking) and ‘Porchetta‘, pork as you’ve never tried it before.
But the detail that will probably grab your attention more is the many exotic names in our pasta selection. Ravioli, Paccheri, Strozzapreti, Trofie, Pappardelle … Just like the Nordic popuplations have many different ways of saying “snow” in their language, we have at least as many names for our pasta! These are only just few examples of how creative we can be when naming our pasta (and each one usually has an interesting story behind it) …could we call ourselves true Italians if we didn’t have that many diffferent pasta types on our menu!?
And what else is so classic and quintessentially Italian, other than Pasta? Well, Pizza of course! This time we have especially selected for you only the best and most delicious pizzas, the ones that are REALLY a classic, the ones that everyone in Italy loves and eats regularly. We can assure you that these pizzas are absolutely on another level of deliciousness!
Another innovation of our menu are definitely the salads, or ‘Le Isalate’ as we like to call them. Mediterranea, Cesare or Caprese, and coming in two sizes large and small, these salads are perfect as a main course, for a quick lunch break or as a side dish, when you want to enjoy something tasty but guilt-free, instead of having fries with your main.
What else can we say… We are so excited about these new dishes that we could go on and on and on for hours just talking about them! But we won’t…instead we really hope we have intrigued you enough with all this food talk and our enthusiams, and hope to see you all very soon in our restaurant!
