Prosecco Zonin – even our fizz is made in Italy!
Prosecco has become the most successful and best selling Italian sparkling wine and has been gaining international popularity and recognition.
The birthplace of Prosecco is in Veneto, a region in the North East of Italy, known around the world for its architectural beauty, its elegance and most especially its wines.
Once again it was because of the Romans – of course, who else? – that this wine spread in Italy. Apparently it was thanks to them, who brought the vines to this territory in the first place, that the cultivation and the creation of this amazing wine started. Pliny the Elder, a famous Roman author, mentions it in one of his works and reports that the wife of the emperor Augustus, Livia, reached the age of 82 because she used to drink a very special wine.
“No other wine is better for medical use” she said, apparently.
Well, guess what was the wine she was talking about? Prosecco of course, back then known under the name Pùcino.
Zonin Prosecco, is a varietal wine made from the Glera grape, a pyramid shaped bunch, with small/medium sized grape and of golden yellow colour. Is the trait d’union between the territory it originates from and the people who live there, and this translates perfectly into the characteristics of the wine: a great balance of flavours, the vivacity of the bubbles and the colours of the fields. The whole region condensed in a glass, from the mountains to the sea breeze and the history.
Over the years Prosecco has become a synonym of celebration, festivity, fun and the quintessentially Italian lifestyle. When the situation calls for it, whether it be for birthday parties, a special event, a toast, or just a gathering together with friends, Prosecco is the go-to drink for any Italian.
“It is not just a sparkling wine, but a wine that sparkles.”
But let’s focus more in detail on the characteristics of this wine:
It belongs to the category of dry wines, it’s fresh and fruity and this is what makes it incredibly versatile when it comes to food pairings: It’s an excellent choice for the Aperitivo, it’s great with starters and fish based dishes, goes well with pizza
and can also be served throughout the meal – including dessert.

Colour & Flavour
Straw yellow, white and light foam, and light iridescence. Intense and fruity flavour, with hint of wisteria flowers and pippin apple. Very well-balanced and appealing, with the extremely delicate almond note that is typical of Prosecco.
