Soup is the go-to winter dish, almost everyone reaches for a bowl of steaming hot soup when it’s below freezing outside – immediately warming us up, while still leaving room for the meal ahead. Lentils are a typical winter ingredient, great for hearty hot soups! Here at Antico, we sometimes use them as ingredients for our Zuppa del Giorno – the special soup of the day on the A-la-carte menu.
La Lasagna Classica alla Bolognese
Trationally, Bolognese sauce requires a slow cook for the perfect caramelization of its ingredients, which include; onion, celery, and carrot, along with beef, veal, red wine, and tomatoes. Simmered over low heat, Bolognese becomes a thick, hearty sauce.
An Italian classic! Fresh pasta tubes filled with a ricotta and spinach mixture and baked in a tomato and béchamel sauce. This is a customer favourite in the winter time, it’s such a filling dish designed to make you feel warm during the colder months.
A personal favourite of ours… Parmigiana! Quintessentially Italian and perfect for the colder months of the year. However, even if you’re reading this blog and it’s not winter, you can still enjoy this dish all year round and in every season!
